‘Tis—and we can’t stress this enough—the season. Even though we just crossed over into December last week, we’re right in that sweet spot of the Christmas spirit. Thanksgiving is over, we’ve gotten some gifts, and we’re not sick of the Christmas radio yet. Or, at least, we hope you aren’t. Because on this week’s episode of the podcast, we’re asking: Which Christmas song is the best Christmas song?
We already know what you’re thinking: there are one million Christmas songs by one million people. WE KNOW. But with all of our tournaments, we did some serious math and got our list down to 32 songs. We’ve got a good mix of what we’ll call “Christmas standards,” songs about the holiday that have been done by everybody and their mother but probably have a definitive version, and “Christmas classics,” songs by a particular artist that if you ever heard anybody else do it you’d be like “...what?” An example of the former is “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” and perhaps the example of the latter is “All I Want for Christmas is You” by Queen Christmas.
So what do you think? Will Mariah Carey’s newly diamond-certified single take this one home? Or what about “White Christmas” by Bing Crosby, the best-selling single of all time? Can the most polarizing Christmas song of all time—Paul McCartney’s “Wonderful Christmastime”— make it past the first round? Or will a staple of The McAllister household advance to the finals and, eventually, win all the marbles? Only you can tell us!
Here’s the link to vote, ya filthy animals.
