In our "Meet the Team" series we've asked each of our advisory board and founding team members a series of questions so you can get to know them.
Today we'd like to introduce advisory board member, Justin Swinson.
Here's what he had to say:
Hey, Justin here! I used to write and perform in front of people and now I write and perform in front of a webcam because just when you think you have the answers, life changes the questions. From the East Coast, currently based in Chicago, big fan of comedy, music and the visuals, hater of bio writing.
What's something you've been reading/watching/listening to lately that you're loving?
The show "Warrior" on HBO Max and the book "Finna" by Nate Marshall.
What is something you're working on right now (or recently) that you're really pumped about?
I'm working on producing a music show that I hope will showcase musicians and their creative process. I don't have a background in music so approaching this as just a fan and someone fascinated by the creative process has been a fun challenge.
Any new pandemmy hobbies?
Biking, taking care of plants and buying way too many shoes on the internet.
What made you want to get involved with Trident?
There will always be a space for live entertainment but the digital landscape is so new and exciting. We are really just starting to scratch the surface of what digital entertainment can be, being a part of The Trident Network is a chance to abandon the rules and pressures of long standing institutions and just create for the sake of expression.
What are you most excited about when it comes to Trident?
I'm really excited to help creatives develop projects and provide a platform for them to do what they love. A digital network gives us a really great opportunity to extend beyond our own communities and connect with people all over, a personal goal of mine is to use this accessibility to help us spotlight artists from underrepresented groups.
What is something you wish more people knew about you? A fun fact or secret talent?
I hope to visit every National Park in America before I die.
Anything else you want us to know?
We're all still trying to figure it out, I promise you're doing better than you think you are.
