In our "Meet the Team" series we've asked each of our advisory board and founding team members a series of questions so you can get to know them.
Today we'd like to introduce advisory board member, Emma Smith.
Here's what they had to say:
I'm Emma Smith (they/them/theirs). I'm a Chicago based comedian/actor/writer with a BA in theatre and a penchant for low-stakes celebrity drama. When not writing or performing, I'm probably biking around the city or looking for my keys. Please send me pictures of your pup at @emma.roo.smith.
What's something you've been reading/watching/listening to lately that you're loving?
I've been binge watching The Sopranos nonstop and I'm hooked! (oh Marone!)
What is something you're working on right now (or recently) that you're really pumped about?
I recently collaborated on a virtual immersive theatre experience called Chimera that went up in March! It was essentially a narrative, surreal escape room for your brain.
Any new pandemmy hobbies?
Lately I've been taking Italian classes (oh Marone!) and learning to carve spoons.
What made you want to get involved with Trident?
I really missed having a community, not only to collaborate on projects, but to lift each other up and gain inspiration from each other's ideas.
What are you most excited about when it comes to Trident?
I'm excited to create that sense of community and reconnect with each other! There's a palpable energy that comes from being in a room of creatives (virtual or IRL) that I can already feel coming back. I'm ready for some weird pitches and belly laughs!
What is something you wish more people knew about you? A fun fact or secret talent?
I'm pretty decent at knot tying- need a hammock tied to a tree or a rock climbing harness knotted up? I'm a phone call away.
Anything else you'd like us to know?
Long Live Trident, Long Live Poseidon.
