In our "Meet the Team" series we've asked each of our advisory board and founding team members a series of questions so you can get to know them.
Today we'd like to introduce Alex Bellisle, a member of our Advisory Board.
Here's what she had to say:
Hi! My name is Alex Bellisle and I am primarily an actor and writer out of Chicago. When not in quarantine I performed in front of actual human people in the same room as me on various stages including The Second City and iO in Chicago, Woolley Mammoth Theater in DC and any other place that would have me. Currently, I perform online, in a room by myself, hoping to make the people on the other side of the wire giggle with the group Girls Night In. My biggest hopes and dreams include sitting in a coffee shop then walking by the gym promising myself I will go tomorrow and getting froyo instead.
What's something you've been reading/watching/listening to lately that you're loving?
I love True Crime and Fictitious Crime. I listen to the podcasts My Favorite Murder and Jensen and Holes, I watch Forensic Files (I love that they make every crime look like it happenend in 1980) and all the procedural dramas, and I read* (*listen to the audiobook) The In Death Series by JD Robb.
What is something you're working on right now (or recently) that you're really pumped about?
Girls Night In is a show I perform in and help produce every Tuesday night at 7pm cst. We started doing shows online immediately when quarantine hit and get to play with some of the best comedians in the US and Canada. We recently did a show with Colin Mochrie and Deb McGrath- twas amazing! You can find us at gnishow.com.
Any new pandemmy hobbies?
I learned to play guitar... badly, but I've been taking classes for almost a year now and it's something that I am very proud of.
What made you want to get involved with Trident?
It was Val's vision and the trust in her follow through. Many of us have cool ideas for things however don't always have the focus or ability to follow through. Val. Gets. Shit. Done.
What are you most excited about when it comes to Trident?
I'm excited to see what artists want to produce in all different forms.
What is something you wish more people knew about you? A fun fact or secret talent?
Before comedy I was a lifeguard and coached middle school swimming and water polo.
Check out Alex's video "Lifeguard" that just went live on Trident's YouTube!
